Gastro Kitchen is the all-day dining outlet serving the DoubleTree by Hilton guests at JBR – but my interest is shared with most Dubai residents, and that is a fabulous place to eat, in the gardens, by the pool, at the beach, and opposite Dubai Eye!

The menu is bright and fun, with a selection of specialites that go well for a nice lunch or a tranquil dinner, as well as of course serving a sumptuous breakfast buffet to house guests!

Starter trio of bruschettas and a side of halloumi fries set the scene,

with fresh mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, and luscious balsamic glaze; as well as honey-glazed combination of brie and walnuts, and tuna tartare.

Several options of hearty healthy super-bowls catch the eye, and indeed each of them is a meal into themselves!

Below is the Falafel Bowl, with avocado, chickpeas, hummus, quinoa, olives, cucumber, halloumi cubes, and of course the star of the dish: falafel.

Mains propose a selection of grilled dishes, including fish,

as well as a magical sweet-and-crunchy chicken burger, with delicious Korean BBQ sauce!

Look closer, and you can see the crunchiness of those fried onion crisps!
