Spend a weekend at one of the region’s main motoring exhibitions:
the Dubai International Motor Show!
And you don’t have to be a petrol-head to enjoy a large-scale event like this – there is something for everyone.
Dubai in fact is host to a great many international exhibitions throughout the year, and many of them are hosted at the Dubai World Trade Center, where you will find all the upcoming events and exhibitions for the year.
Dubai Calendar of Events includes also events beyond exhibitions – artistic, sporting, cultural, academic, etc.
The Dubai International Motor Show attracts a great deal of interest, particularly in the luxury and sports categories. In the photo below, the BMW i8 catches the attention of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.
With its visionary design and intelligent lightweight construction that equals emission-free driving with sports car performance, the all-new 2+2 seater BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car is set to revolutionise the automotive industry when it goes on sale in May 2014.
Didn’t know that? Well, you should go to the Motor Show!
Catch a video glimpse here:
The other super-cars are there, too, like the gorgeous Maserati Ghibli.
Ferrari launched the 458 Speciale, with Giulio Zauner, General Manager, Ferrari Middle East & Africa and Hossam Hosni, General Manager Luxury Auto, Al Tayer Motors at the launch event.
Bentley presented the Bentley Mulsanne Shaheen.
MINI introduced some fun with its NOT NORMAL campaign.
Audi rocked with its selection.
And VW brought in live music, with Hamad Al Fardan, winner of the competition “Your Music. Das Auto”.
The Americans displayed some muscle – both in speed as well as brute force.
The Chevrolet Stingray Coupé showing off the potential of the former:
And the GMC Sierra Denali looking like it could pull a freight train!
Cadillac produced a little strip-tease to reveal the all-new CTS.
But I think Hyundai stole the show by presenting the futuristic HCD-14 Genesis concept.
But only to be topped by BMW’s dazzling line-up, including the concept X4, and the debut of the incredible BMW 760Li V12 M Bi-Turbo, conceptualized and produced exclusivity for the Middle East market.
All in all, wondering where to spend a fun weekend? Check out what international exhibition is in town next weekend!
And, as I said, there is always something for everyone:
The Dubai International Motor Show, and other exhibitions throughout the year, are held at the exhibition halls next to the two World Trade buildings, easily accessible by Dubai Metro at the station called “World Trade Center”.
