Enter a magical world at Bar Baar, hosted at the Majestic Hotel in Bur Dubai – it’s a real trip!

65 Indian street food items, mostly prepared live on wheeled carts right before your eyes.

It’s like a night market in India – yet at the same time, the decor offers an amazing and even surreal sense of traveling into another dimension!

I mean, it’s Indian – no doubt – and proudly so; but at the same time it’s pushing boundaries.

The juxtaposition of the traditional street food and the hyper-modern artwork worked so well, and I really did feel like I was transported out of Bur Dubai and into another world.

But it’s also comfortable, with numerous niches and nooks to cocoon into with a group of friends.

Oh, and there’s live music – mellow, not overpowering or punky – just perfect to set the mood. And the equipment for the stage is pro!

Makes me wonder what else they get up to at Bar Baar when it’s not weekend brunch!!

The bar is swinging hot – fully stocked and rolling on at full speed.

And of those 65 food items, every single one was unique in taste and texture! We’re not talking repeats, or add-a-peanut and call it a variation – no, the choice was incredible, and the small portions gave enough chance to savor the delicacy, and then move onto the next one.

As a non-Indian I cannot comment on the authenticity, but I can testify that I loved every bite – and the joint was hopping full of a young and funky crowd who seemed to know their chaats! Chaat connoisseurs, I guess!

We placed our trust in the very welcoming wait staff, who happily took on the role of culinary tour guide and made our journey a fabulous experience – in fact, I would highly recommend any UAE expat with a penchant for Indian food to book a table with friends, because this brunch will blow your mind!
