Located in the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Jumeirah, Dubai, El Sur is an oasis of un-paralleled service and aura. The sleek and modern restaurant is a dream come true for lovers of Spanish cuisine.

It comes full-fledged with a chic and cosmopolitan bar, charismatic ambience and a selection of melodious and up-beat music. The starter list is extensive, followed by a five-star main-dish library, chill out drinks and mouth-watering desserts.

We were seated in open-air and soft-lightning, a cozy and comfortable spot perfect for unwinding after a long day of work and driving in the tedious Dubai traffic.

A tangy starter of Seabass Cevishe with citrus and guacamole shows attention to the minutest detail and is in every respect a party for the taste-buds. The garlic and chili prawns are loaded with authentic Spanish spices, each prawn perfectly cooked, perfectly savory and perfectly lustrous.

However, while rarely we come across a discordant note, the Kenyan bean salad with seaweed, sesame and calamari was on the wrong side of citrusy, and not to our liking. But the tender eggplant with soy honey and requesón regained favor.

Following the world-famous Spanish paella, come main dish, we had the Wagyu beef and lamb chops caramelized with honey and quinoa; tender, juicy and flavorful, complimented well with a chilled lemon sangria drink.

The dessert selection is limited; take my word and try the toasty chocolate textures with black sesame ice cream; a delightful combination of warm and cold designed to entice you and end your meal on a sweet and creamy note.

The serving staff was professional and courteous, we were welcomed by two hostesses who smoothly guided us to our table and got us started for the meal.

Overall, El Sur is a benchmark of modern dining, top-notch service and an unprecedented cuisine. A must visit for all those seeking a unique dining experience in a city that is crowded with slapdash restaurants boasting exception and class.
