Bas Manouche is a humble bakery in the thick of the high apartments of Abu Dhabi – but it serves from the heart, and the baked marvels that emerge from that oven are amazing in taste!
For a breakfast with a difference, or a late night snack for connoisseurs of delicious Lebanese fresh-from-the-oven, or even a delivery feast for a party of friends – let’s go to Bas Manouche!
It’s a small but cozy eat-in bakery.
And its magic is in the freshly baked menu items:
You can see the care and love put into the preparation clearly when it arrives to your table.
And when that crispy morsel brushes your lips, at first shyly, and your eyes open wide as the fragrance reaches your senses; and so you bite into it, gathering confidence, and the passion of the flavors explode into your mouth!
Fresh out of the oven is unbeatable.
You sit there with friends, in anticipation – you wait, knowing the dough is rising with the heat, the crust is firming up and little burnt marks are appearing.
You smell before it immediately reaches your table – Bas Manouche is a small operation. You’re part of the family.
And there are some very well prepared items on the menu.
Minced lamb bread boats are fantastic!
The shakshouka for breakfast should be famous across all Abu Dhabi – Bas Manouche cooks and serves it in a cast iron pan, and you can taste that the onions and red peppers have been slowly roasted over low heat over time: there’s no rushing the natural sweetness of onions.
It is in itself a complete breakfast, and of course freshly-baked bread comes with it.
But then Bas Manouche throws in a suggestion. An adaptation of a Turkish dish, but now fully Lebanese. The best part of the lamb loin is minced with light spices, and then gorgeously baked in a clay pot. Just before it’s ready, the pot is taken out of the oven and sealed with bread dough, and then finished off under heat.
It appears at your table as a bread football… and you wonder what’s inside.
You carefully cut it open and the steam escapes and captures your nose – absolutely delicious!
Served with fresh yoghurt and lemon, it is a divine dish!
And when paired with the sweet Shakshook, for a few banknotes you are eating like a King!
Really one of Abu Dhabi’s best hidden Lebanese bakeries.
Bas Manouche actually do a roaring delivery business, but there’s nothing like getting it straight out of the oven!
And it’s a happy little place!
Also pizzas are served.
And fresh juices:
And every dish we tried was made from the heart!
If you love baked Lebanese food, then Bas Manouche is the place to try!
And if you really can’t make it in person, then just use your telephone and Bas Manouche comes to you.
