Friday brunch is UAE’s favorite way of starting the weekend, and the choice of venue is always an interesting endeavor – from today, made much easier by Toshi throwing its hat into the fray with a loud cheer for authentic specialties from Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Korea and Vietnam!
The buffet is well curated, like a Louvre museum representing Eastern Asia – and highlights include a wide selection of Sushi, Sashimi and Maki rolls, representing Japan; scrumptious Dumplings, Dimsum, Noodles, Peking duck and other authentic Chinese dishes; while delicious Pad Thai, Satay Skewers, Mee Goreng, Beef Rendang, Nasi Goreng and more warm the hearts of Thai and Malaysian food fanatics.
There are a variety of soups like the Spicy Laksa Curry Soup, Tom Yum Kung and Miso Soup; as well as appetizers, salads, and a number of rice dishes!
The tastes are original, not convenient adaptations, and it really felt like the good Chefs at the Grand Millennium, Barsha Heights, hunted down the authentic ingredients required for each dish.
As such, the brunch was a procession of mouth-watering morsels – each more divine than the previous one!
It was delightful not to load up our plates, and to savor the culinary journey piece by piece.
Naturally, each eats as they like – but it just felt right to proceed through the amazing variety diligently, with care to sample each tradition separately.
Perhaps it was out of respect for the effort that went into cataloging such a representation of a region’s world food – truly an admirable triumph by the food and beverage team.
Besides, each platter was so unique in taste that it was best enjoyed on its own, before moving onto the next!
Oh! And drinks!!!
Besides a wide selection at the fully-stocked bar, a roving trolley mixed your favorite version of Bloody Mary live at your table!
Yet the catwalk of fashionable and delightful food continued:
and it was for the most part very healthy food – and we certainly ate to our content!
And some were spicy!
All the way to dessert!
Overall, Toshi provided a delectable Friday Brunch – out of the ordinary, and quite unique in its laser-sharp focus on a specific region of the world: for a pan-Asian journey of culinary delight, you now know where to go to start off your weekend!
