Dai Pai Dong restaurant is Abu Dhabi’s home of delicious Chinese brunches, specializing in dim sum delicacies, but also adding several more culinary dimensions as well!

And particularly as the annual celebration of the Chinese New Year is upon us this coming weekend, Dai Pai Dong is really upping its normally fantastic weekend brunch!

The authenticity of Dai Pai Dong is legendary among Abu Dhabi Chinese expats, as well as all those who love a fine level of Chinese cuisine.

The atmosphere is marvelous in the interior dining halls,

where the open-plan kitchen is in full swing, and you might very well feel you are in bustling Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong!

Yet we chose to be seated outside on the terrace, to make the most of the lovely weather and magnificent views.

And still the fresh market stall atmosphere followed us!

You see, dim sum are the delicate morsels served in steamed baskets, and they are brought to your table in a trolley for your selection and delight.

And they populate your table on a continuous basis…

There are perhaps a dozen varieties, all of them delicious!

And each one a culinary masterpiece on its own!

But at Dai Pai Dong that’s not all!

A fresh noodle station is outside, waiting for your order and preferences…

And resulting in a hearty bowl!

And then also there is a live-fire grilling station!

And there’s more!

Inside you will find several other live stations, for sushi, for wok dishes, for soups, and a separate pork station serving three varieties of Chinese specialties…

As well as the Peking Roast Duck station, where the Chef will professionally roll your duck pancakes for you, as so:

I fear I might be forgetting something, because the festival-like vibes were powerful, and joy and laughter was everywhere – just like it should be, especially for the celebration of the Chinese New Year!

Ah yes! Desserts! A full dessert section presented a variety of Chinese favorites, and they are now my favorites, too!

As well as the humble yet famous egg tart – scrumptious! – and at Dai Pai Dong prepared with care and attention to every detail.
