La Casa Del Tango is Dubai’s house of the world-famous Tango dance – and the marvellously decorated restaurant is the brainchild of Mr Enrique Macana, founder and director, and an internationally reknown Tango dancer himself!
In addition to the sophisticated interior decor, La Casa Del Tango sports a fully-stocked bar and a ceiling-high wine cellar specializing in prized Argentinian wines.
But that’s not all!
True to Argentinian culinary traditions of grand beef grillades, an original indoor firepit with massive tripod is enclosed within glass, and graced by a Tango exhibition photo of Enrique and his brother in action!
And did I say “action”?
Well, you’ve come to right place!
In keeping with its namesake, La Casa Del Tango mantains a stage area, a Tango school, and live Tango dancing – yes, during your brunch, you are treated to the wonderfully fluid movements of professional Tango dancers!
Mesmerizing and breathtaking, the dance is poetry in motion – all brunch conversation stops, and the tension between the graceful dancers captivates the audience – an amazing show-stopping speciality of the weekend brunches presented at La Casa Del Tango, unique in Dubai.
Besides, the brunch menu is spectacular of its own accord.
La Casa Del Tango offers several weekend brunches – on Saturday afternoon presenting the Barrio Brunch.
A flurry of delicious starters grace the table, mainly representing Argentinian cuisine – and the service is silver spoon all the way.
Delectable slow-cooked and tender lamb with delicious beetroot captures the palate’s attention,
while a selection of oven-baked cheese croquettes topped with fresh cream and ajvar kalamata jam captures the imagination.
Typical South American empanadas are elevated to fine-dining level of juiciness and flavor,
and another beloved Argentinian dish follows suit: a yummy Fugazzeta – a baked tart smothered with sweet onion, mozzarella cheese, and oregano!
Now you are really in Argentina!
The Head Chef tasked with creating and executing this masterful brunch menu is the capable Danilo Lekic.
The choice of mains is yours – we went for more embedded Argentinian culture with a fabulous cut of tenderloin, expertly teased over hot coals and live fire, and topped with an exciting mix of salt, peppers, and Argentinian herbs – it comes already seasoned personally by the good Chef, so you may present your preference at time of placing your order.
The beef quality was second-to-none and indeed above expectations – clearly holding prime position as the restaurant’s signature delicacy.
It was an exceptional steak, and I would highly recommend it and any other grilled meats at La Casa Del Tango – other choices for mains are seabream fillet with an outrageously interesting lemon garlic oregano dressing, other fabulous cuts of beef steak, and an enigmatic truffle risotto with wild mushrooms… next time!
For dessert, pancakes with a wild berry compote brought the meal full circle.
Overall, La Casa Del Tango weekend brunch presents a trifecta of excellence – the dishes served are mouth-watering in their delicacy and refined flavors, the ambiance and service is sophisticated yet comfortably so, and the live Tango itself elevated a marvellous brunch to a spectacular level – unique in Dubai and a testament to the dedication to the most sensual of dances that originated in Argentina in the early twentieth century.
La Casa Del Tango’s weekend brunch is a show-stopper!
