With perhaps the most impressive entrance of all Abu Dhabi restaurants, Urban Kitchen is seamlessly tucked behind the breath-taking lobby of the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi.
The ambience is both tranquil and fiery, in a typical Asian balance of ying-and-yang: the tranquility of the Thai decor bounces off the live-cooking stations!
We were there to experience the Wok With Me Friday brunch – a spectacular display of culinary might.
And the work of a gastronomical genius, Executive Chef Andrea Gerometta.
The force behind the live stations concept, Chef Andrea, like a tropical hurricane, blew away the older-style static buffet and genially replaced it with lively fresh-food outlets; where you order precisely as you want it, and it is skilfully prepared right then and there in front of you.
You can’t beat that kind of fresh!
And the selection is unparalleled. I counted five separate and fully-stocked live stations, in addition to the buffet outlay, and it really was like dining in five complete restaurants in one.
The choice was one of the best we have encountered in the UAE!
I am not a betting man, but I would say the chances of you not finding something fantastically delicious to your liking would be statistically zero!
