Really??? The best of Italy?

That’s a very bold claim to make, especially when lit up across your restaurant wall…

Let us investigate:

Actually, cut the suspense… it most certainly is, otherwise we wouldn’t recommend it on weekenduae!

Absolutely fabulous!

There are two pillars that support Luigia, according to General Manager Antonio Lagrutta: firstly, the ingredients are imported directly from Italy exclusively for Luigia.

Secondly, this can happen, from farm to restaurant, because Luigia already has an established supply chain for its award-winning Luigia restaurants operating in Switzerland. In fact, their pizzaioli (pizza makers) are considered among the best in the world.

And thirdly, I add this myself, under the leadership of Antonio Lagrutta, a veteran restauranteur on the Dubai restaurant scene, Luigia understands how to balance and please the many cultures that come to head in Dubai – as you enter the restaurant, you enter Italy; but, at the same time, distinguished guests will find accommodations made specifically to suit their tastes.

The food?

Delicious and simple – or, simply delicious – you choose.

Excellent pizzas. Just excellent – from the very particular dough, to the directly-imported ingredients (taste that fresh mozzarella!) to the options available as toppings on the menu.

Olives the size of plums! Crispy and so tasty that you eat them with your eyes closed!

Again, that mozzarella was the best I have tasted in UAE hands down – super fresh, and just a quality that to be honest you would struggle to find in Italy.

The pasta? Well, that’s where you separate the truth from the hyperbole in Italian cuisine. Sure, it’s easy: just throw some spaghetti in boiling water, right?

Wrong!!!

Luigia is named in honor of the grandmothers of the founders, two Italians in Switzerland. And one does not name their restaurant after their grandmother to then mess up the pasta!

A superlative plate of spaghetti in Amalfi style – I was licking my lips and scooping up the left-over sauce with bread.

Seafood linguine just as good…

And dessert was both elegant and tremendous in its fine taste.

The ambiance was classy and sophisticated, yet at the same time welcoming – above all, professional service was order of the day.

The kitchen is populated by Italians, and on the dining floor the managers and head waiters also herald from the beautiful country.

Would you believe that the pizza oven contains special heating stones from the famous Vesuvius volcano of Naples, brought by the builders to Dubai in their suitcases?

That’s how serious Luigia takes its attention to detail!

Luigia is fully licensed, and also offers a separate fun area for children.

Overall, Luigia is at the top of its game: extremely delicious authentic Italian food in Dubai, and very professionally presenting the Italian experience to the multicultural world of the UAE.
