Magnificently executed, Life is Sweet reminded me of Dubai in its heyday of glamorous weekend brunches!

Essentially Lebanese cuisine, the theme is Pink – preparation and presentation of the dishes worked seamlessly with the decor to bring the concept to life at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel in JBR.

And I heard that if you wear a pink shirt something special happens to you!

From themed cocktails and drinks – all at five-star level of delicate serving – Al Maeda combined all forces to present a smooth and delicious brunch.

Senior Sous Chef, Mostafa Sayed, is the culinary genius leading the kitchen teams.

And his creations were totally memorable!

In line with Lebanese tradition, the appetizers covered the table with warm hospitality – but none declared that Life is Sweet as the very clever use of beetroot and pomegranite to match the brunch pink concept!

Three different hummus versions are served, including one scented with truffles, and they were all creamy-dreamy and flavorsome on the palate.

They could have been any color, and still super-delicious!

The falafel were unique in taste, and the fresh salads were artfully seasoned – just right: not too tart, not too sweet, basically just perfect!

A surprise pide was also offered at the table, straight out of the oven.

And the premises were delightful as well – dining on the terrace overlooking the grassy pool area with Dubai Eye ferris wheel in the background is a special experience.

Inside seating is also available, including private alcoves and a children’s play area.

And Al Maeda’s fully-stocked bar allows for two options of the set menu brunch: with alcoholic beverages or not.

Back to the mains, a selection of Lebanese style grills, jumbo prawns, or an enticing Lamb Wellington…

The Lamb Wellington, normally beef, caught my fancy instantly, and I was presented with a masterpiece… beautifully crispy on the outside, with fantastic aromas on the inside.

The Jumbo Prawns arrived with a similar fanfare, and they were excellently cooked, starting with the freshest ingredients from the sea.

Look closely, and you can almost imagine the scents and flavors!

A supremely delicious main course was followed by a selection of desserts, to finish off a spectacular weekend brunch.

Overall, for a fantastic and professionally-executed themed weekend brunch at silver service level of excellence, hosted at Doubletree by Hilton beachside hotel in JBR, Dubai, you will find Al Maeda ticks all boxes for delicious delights.
