Okrugljak in Zagreb, Croatia is a fabulous traditional restaurant that specializes in authentic Croatian delicacies – if you’re ever in Zagreb, Okrugljak (unpronounceable to all but Croatians!) is a must-eat-at!

You may sit comfortably outside in a luscious garden:

or sit inside in a wonderfully decorated traditional wooden lodge!

Since the weather was just perfect in summer – around 26 degrees! – we chose to sit outside.

Also because, outside, “we dance sometimes!”

But Okrugljak’s fame – and it is extremely well-known to Zagreb residents – is due to its honest and delicious authentic cooking.

In a modern world where traditional values are fast disappearing, and good authentic home-made food is increasingly scarce, Okrugljak is there to remind us of what real food should taste like!

Even though we had never tried Croatian food before, and we had no idea what to expect – by the end of the meal we were feeling very satisfied indeed!

Overall, for a truly Croatian culinary experience, you must not visit Zagreb without dining at this restaurant!
