Ramadan has a traditional feeling to it, and this was tangible in the ambiance at Anantara Eastern Mangroves for the Iftar buffet.
And while some places try and exaggerate in the light-and-sound show to bring in patrons, at Anantara the mood was respectful and caring, even spiritual.
This welcome humility was also reflected in the homemade-style food – tastefully and lovingly prepared, as if from your own Mother’s hands.
The seating is equally important, and tables are arranged for families or friends sharing the first meal of the day with loved ones.
It is a 5-star hotel serving your Iftaar meal, of course, and so expect some very special additions – like the platter of rice and lamb!
I found a lovely balance between traditional Arabian foods and delicacies from international cuisines – so you may choose as you prefer.
Above, sushi boats, and below the heritage teapot which serves tamarind drink at your table to break the fast.
It is the attention and respectful care that was shining at Anantara – it’s true the simple things are the most important!
And then – excitement!
As part of the Iftar buffet, an amazing tent has been erected on the hotel grounds – the Suhoor tent!
And when I say ‘tent’, I mean a tent capable of hosting several hundred people and appointed worthy of the Anantara Eastern Mangroves reputation of excellence.
The Suhoor Tent stretches around the three sides of the resort’s main swimming pool, which now becomes the central water feature.
So spacious! So elegantly decorated and furnished, this is the place to spend the night with lively conversation, merry games, and fun!
Private sections are available, too.
Overall, the combination of sophisticated attention to your needs, and the sincere dedication to making your Iftar special, Anantara delivers what seems to be Abu Dhabi’s best buffet for Ramadan 2018!
