It’s not easy to get an Iftar right, not even if you’re a five-star hotel!
Actually, especially if you’re a five-star hotel – and double-especially if you’ve been the capital’s center of hospitality since 1979!
There’s a risk of going overboard with glitz – clearly, gigantic ice sculptures, peacock feather arrangements, and faux gold all over the place is a mistaken avenue, yet one that so many top hotels head down in their efforts to impress.
With grace and humble perfection, the Sheraton Abu Dhabi brings together its expertise and delivers a respectful, warm, and cozy Iftar buffet, that your family and friends will appreciate and enjoy – like being in your own five-star home.
The entrance is welcoming, and dignified guests head up the magnificent lobby staircase to reach Flavours, your host restaurant for the evening.
Flavours is a large and open-style restaurant, overlooking the Sheraton garden grounds and pool area.
And you may gather outside in the upper lobby before entering, if you prefer.
The concept is to provide you with all that you require to break your fast, and the focus is on Arabian flavours – your favorites!
An emphasis on healthy eating is apparent, with the salads and traditional dips offering a wonderful selection – handcrafted hummus, baba ganouj, mottabel, all are present and willing to jump onto your plate!
And at the other end of the spectrum, the dessert table is long and loaded!
Naturally, also with sweets, the spotlight is on local and regional delicacies!
And in between, a lively and carefully curated variety of dishes, including seafood biryani and carved lamb – and whenever you see a ceramic tajine, you take what’s under it because they were all fantastic!
Also, I almost forgot!
Dates, hot soups, and all sorts of break-fasting drinks, from rose milk to Tamr Hindi (tamarind) are placed at your service!
And so in a delightful ambiance, you enjoy a wonderful evening meal – in a dignified environment, with your family and friends, after a long day of fasting. The Sheraton Iftar, above all else, seemed to understand what is needed, and they provided it before you even need to ask – one of the capital city’s best traditional Iftars.
