It’s fantastic to be able to travel to another country, without even leaving Dubai!

At least, culinarily speaking!

Indeed, Ichiryu Ramen House is an authentic Japanese noodle shop – but so cute and well-designed, that you really do feel you’ve been teletransported to Japan!

It has a cozy feel to it, and a friendliness which is enhanced by the typical welcome of the staff greeting your entrance in Japanese.

Ichiryu Ramen House is a humble eatery, but it is clear a lot of passion has gone into it – in fact, it is a family-run eatery, with a long history in Japan.

And it shows the moment the first dish arrives to the table!

Takoyaki is a grilled, round pancake, usually with a seafood filling – and Ichiryu Ramen House has several varieties on the menu.

And although I have tasted takoyaki before, and actually I’ll order it every chance I get, the good chef at Ichiryu Ramen House got the batter consistency and flavors just right, that I felt I was discovering what the real takoyaki is supposed to taste like!

It blew my taste buds into outer space!

Similarly, other dishes were sensational at Ichiryu Ramen House – the decor and vibes worked in synergy with the food quality: and not only the flavors and preparation techniques, the actual choice of ingredients was excellent.

A fresh salad, with impeccable sliced avocado, and light and tasty mayo-based dressing, topped generously with fish roe.

And that attention to detail, and care in preparation, underlined the deliciousness of every dish at Ichiryu Ramen House – a professionalism that sprouts out of real passion.

The maki rolls were creative and super-delicious!

Again very carefully prepared in both presentation and flavor…

… and the Japanese-style curry and chicken was phenomenal.

And at this point, on stage we present the protagonist of the show, the main event – and Ichiryu Ramen House’s namesake: the ramen!

A piping-hot hearty soup, beloved throughout Asia, and at Ichiryu Ramen House offered in a variety of soup stocks, noodles, and toppings.

Clear chicken stock is a favorite, while a miso base is another – vegetarian option is available as well – and they all have in common the very deep flavors that bring this delicacy alive on the palate.

And if you feel like a quick work-lunch – there is nothing better!

And at Ichiryu Ramen House, you may even choose to sit in the unique row of individual seating, just like they do in busy Japan at lunchtime!

For dessert, the yummy mochi ice-cream!
