Finally the original Barracuda and adjacent Barracuda Beach Resort have a throbbing-hot restaurant – the Thunder Road Pizza & Grill.

Located seaside, large green lawn with playground giving onto the mangrove lagoon, outdoor dining at its best in the winter weather, Thunder Road is a family destination.

The interior is hip and cool, with a biker theme in its decor – and airy spaces for comfortable seating even in large parties.

It’s casual and welcoming, and designed to be much more than a restaurant – more like a destination attraction for time well spent with friends and family: just add your own laughter and good times!

However, I found that the great atmosphere is just the start to what Thunder Road barracuda really offers.

These guys sure can cook!!!

And I mean Cook with a capital C… and Grill burgers, and Bake pizza (super-professional oven, check it out!), and assemble incredibly delicious dishes!

It was quite surprising to see the excellence span across both the ambience and culinary prowess – in fact, there are so many restaurants that do one or the other, but not both. You will probably find Thunder Road Barracuda to be full, so arrive early!

And this is their regular burger, as it arrived at the table – I could not believe my eyes!

Such a perfect burger… if I were fries I would want to marry it!

And the flavors were exceptional – the meat was surely seasoned before cooking, and then grilled on high heat to seal in the natural juices: simple but effective toppings, top quality cheese, and soft bun, super-fresh.

And then the ribs arrived!

Absolutely spectacular dish, a must-order, please.

So tender you can leave the knife alone, and so smothered in a fabulously tasty sauce that these ribs will set the standard for any ribs you eat in future.

In fact, forget the wedding between the burger and fries – marry the Chef!!!

Interestingly enough, Thunder Road Barracuda surprised also on the bar front…

So now we have a trifecta of excellence: ambience, food, and drinks!

The bartenders were on a roll – and who were we to stop them???

Creative and expertly mixed, Thunder Road Barracuda delivered at very high level of cocktails – probably influenced by prestigious neighbors!

All in all, either in for a full meal or just a snack, Thunder Road’s barmen have your back covered.

And crowning the lunch with a refined panna cotta dessert for the sweet-tooths among us,

and an exceptional espresso coffee.

Top all this off with a small but very exclusive market for exquisite and original Italian products – quite rare and difficult for UAE gourmets to find – and your trip to Barracuda Umm al Quwain has taken on another dimension.

Overall, one of UAE’s great family restaurants offering exceptionally-delicious American and Italian food – and drinks – and serving as a perfect attraction for both a utilitarian trip to the original Barracuda as well as a fantastic trip destination on its own merits.
